Jay Feely calls Tim Tebow the ‘Single Worst Quarterback’ he has ever seen

Shortly after reports surfaced that Chip Kelly and the Philadelphia Eagles will sign quarterback Tim Tebow, criticisms and speculations regarding the move popped up everywhere on the Internet.

Now, Jay Feely, the former kicker for the Arizona Cardinals, has shared his opinions on Wednesday's episode of Jim Rome on Showtime, which airs April 22 at 9 p.m. ET.

He said, "Tim Tebow is such a dichotomy for me. really respect the person, the man, the things that he believes in, the things he does off the field; he was the single worst quarterback I ever saw in my career in the NFL. I watched him one day. I sat and watched him do routes on air with Ken Whisenhunt as we were playing the Broncos. And routes on air, there's no [defensive backs], you know exactly what he's going to run, there's no pass rush. He had like 13 incompletions on routes on air. Jim [Rome], you and I could go out and do routes on air and we would complete most of our passes."

Tebow's one-year contract worth $660,000 did not come with a signing bonus. It also did not include any guaranteed money, USA TODAY Sports reported. According to the contract details, Tebow's salary will be cut to $388,000 if he ends up on the injury reserve list.

Feely also talked about Eagles head coach Chip Kelly, who has been making some pretty questionable moves this offseason. Kelly traded away running back LeSean McCoy and quarterback Nick Foles.

"He [Kelly] thinks his system is better than everyone's and his system is gonna work and it doesn't matter if he gets rid of star players like DeSean Jackson or LeSean McCoy," Feely said. "He thinks he's smarter so he can take a guy everyone else has quit on ... and utilize him."

Bleacher Report noted that Kelly seems to prefer having former first-round picks as his quarterbacks even if they are not performing as well after their college years.

Doc Moseman wrote:

"The addition of Tebow leaves the Eagles with three former first-round picks at the quarterback position. The apparent starter heading into the new season will be [Sam] Bradford, who was the first overall pick of the 2010 NFL draft. [Mark] Sanchez went in the first round [fifth overall] to the New York Jets in the 2009 draft, and Denver took the original risk with Tebow by selecting him with the 25th overall pick in the 2010 draft.

The problem is that none of these former college standouts have come close to living up to the lofty expectations that come with being a first-round pick in the NFL. Speculation is still running wild as to what Kelly will do with his first-round pick this year's draft, but given his current pattern of decision-making it could very well be a quarterback."
