Lou Williams is the winner of the 2015 NBA Sixth Man Award

The NBA named Lou Williams of the Toronto Raptors the winner of the 2014-15 Kia NBA Sixth Man Award.

Williams, who is a 10-year veteran, received a total of 78 first-place votes from a panel made up of 130 sports writers and broadcasters based throughout the U.S. and Canada. His total of 502 points gave him the overwhelming win for this year's award.

Boston Celtics Isaiah Thomas came in second place with a total of 324 points. He received 33 first-place votes. In third place was two-time winner, Jamal Crawford of the Los Angeles Clippers with 131 points.

The scoring system gave players five points per first-place vote, three points for each second-place vote and one point for a third-place vote.

The shooting guard averaged 15.5 points - a career high - with 2.1 assists during the 2014-15 regular season and made a career-high of 153 3-pointers. Throughout his career, Williams average 11.9 points per game with 2.9 assists and 2.0 rebounds in 22.9 minutes.

Throughout this season, Williams made 80 appearances off of the bench and average 25.2 minutes. He led or tied the team in scoring a total of 18 times. He is also second in the league in scoring for a reserve. On top of these impressive statistics, Williams led the Raptors in free throw percentage with 86.1 percent.

Williams was an integral part in helping the Raptors win a total of 49 games, which is franchise-record.

The Raptors will play the Washington Wizards Tuesday at 8 p.m. They trail the Wizards 1-0 in the first round of the playoffs.
