Allure Releases Nude Spread Featuring Laverne Cox, Jordana Brewster

Allure has released their annual nude spread pictures online.

The five stunning actresses that stripped down for the camera include Orange is the New Black's Laverne Cox, Furious 7's Jordana Brewster, Sleepy Hollow's Nicole Beharie, Terminator Genisys' Sandrine Holt and Vikings' Katheryn Winnick.

All five stars gave their own explanations for deciding to pose nude.

For Brewster, 34, being naked in general is no big deal for her.

She said, "I was raised in Brazil for part of my life, where people are pretty open about their bodies. The bikinis are kind of nonexistent, so you might as well be naked."

Brewster added that she did ask for her husband's approval and his only requirement was for her to avoid a "full frontal" shot.

For Cox, 30, stripping down was a lot more difficult.

"Going through life, you try to cover and hide, but it doesn't really work. I said no initially, thought about it, and said no again," the actress said. "But I'm a black transgender woman. I felt this could be really powerful for the communities that I represent. Black women are not often told that we're beautiful unless we align with certain standards. Trans women certainly are not told we're beautiful. Seeing a black transgender woman embracing and loving everything about herself might be inspiring to some other folks. There's beauty in the things we think are imperfect. That sounds very cliché, but it's true."

Beharie, also 30, stated that she was nervous about the photo shoot as well. However, she ultimately decided to do it to "celebrate and accept [her] body in an artistic way."

The remaining two actresses, Holt 42, and Winnick, 37, talked about how they prepared for the photo shoot. Holt practiced different poses while Winnick sought out advice from her friends on which positions would look the best.

On this year's cover is new mom, Blake Lively, who stayed fully clothed. The May 2015 issue will be available on newsstands on April 28.
