Pink Addresses Fat-Shaming Tweets: "I Feel Beautiful'
Pink responded positively to some criticisms from netizens in Twitter who aired out negative comments about her post-baby body.
According to E! Online, the comments sprung from the singer-songwriter's latest picture at the John Wayne 30th Annual Odyssey Ball at Regent Beverly Wilshire Hotel Saturday. In the picture, she is wearing a black dress that hugs her waistline and a plunging neckline.
On Sunday, she posted: "I can see that some of you are concerned about me from your comments about my weight. You're referring to the pictures of me from last night's cancer benefit that I attended to support my dear friend Dr. Maggie DiNome. She was given the Duke Award for her tireless efforts and stellar contributions to the eradication of cancer. But unfortunately, my weight seems much more important to some of you. While I admit that the dress didn't photograph as well as it did in my kitchen, I will also admit that I felt very pretty. In fact, I feel beautiful."
"So, my good and concerned peoples, please don't worry about me. I'm not worried about me. And I'm not worried about you either. I am perfectly fine, perfectly happy, and my healthy, voluptuous and crazy strong body is having some much deserved time off. Thanks for your concern," she further added.
Further, the 35-year old singer-songwriter shared happy and carefree moments with her daughter, Willow and husband, Carey Heart-the two are said not to mind about her weight, Yahoo News said.
In another Tweet, the hitmaker posted: "Willow said to me the other day whilst grabbing my belly-"mama-why r u so squishy?"And I said.."b/cuz I'm happy baby"
She also posted a candid picture of her and her hubby in event's dinner on Saturday.
"and my hubby says 'it's just more to love baby' (and then I smack his hand off my booty cause we're in a supermarket)."
Pink is one of the celebrities who stood up against fat-shaming comments on social media.
Few weeks ago, Kelly Clarkson also aired out that she is comfortable with her body despite the occasional fat-shaming comments against her.
According to X17, the songstress responded in an interview with Heat magazine saying she did not intend to please everybody and is comfortable with her physique.
"I'm awesome! It doesn't bother me. It's a free world. Say what you will. I've just never cared what people think. It's more if I'm happy and I'm confident and feeling good, that's always been my thing. And more so now, since having a family-I don't seek out any other acceptance."
