Pre-orders of the Apple Watch - a device designed to be as much a fashion accessory as a piece of tech - have already begun; and meanwhile reviews have also beginning to trickle in. Reviewers seem to be impressed by the device, calling it stylish, well-built, attractive and useful. But the device also comes with some flaws that can't be ignored.

The Verge, in its review pointed that the Apple Watch was slow. "Sometimes it's just unresponsive for a few seconds while it thinks and then it comes back." However Apple has responded that a future software update would fix the problem.

According to New York Times, the Apple Watch is little complex to learn at first. However, once its convenient it's more convenient. It later added that once the learning difficulties were overcame, the reviewers "fell hard" for the watch.

Bloomberg straight-up called it the "world's best smartwatch." "Apple Watch is the most advanced piece of wearable technology you can buy today," the review said.

WSJ also agreed to the consensus and noted that "smartwatches finally make sense."

However, the general opinion from the gadget reviewers is that it falls little short of reaching the "must-have" status, but this is how all Apple products have been. Initially focused on just basics and upon every iteration they only get better.
