Continuing to expand the partnership, Microsoft and Dropbox announced that users can now add their Dropbox cloud storage accounts to Office Online, letting them browse, open and edit Office files while using the web version of Office.

Users of Dropbox can now also create new files in Office Online and save directly to Dropbox.

The pair started the integration path with the Office apps for Android and iOS in November, allowing users to access Dropbox directly from Office applications installed on their devices and edit those Office files inside the Dropbox app.

Microsoft and Dropbox officials also said that Dropbox for Business users with Office 365 licenses also would be getting this functionality, according to ZDNet.

Dropbox, as promised, has developed apps for Windows Phone and Windows 8 tablets.
