'Fast & Furious 8' Release Date and Rumors: Vin Diesel Says The Journey Is Not Over Yet

It's only few days since "Furious 7" hit theaters, fans of the franchise have already started wondering if a sequel is coming out. However, according to latest news, there's no movement on Fast and Furious 8 yet.

Furious 7 has managed to gross $392 million worldwide hence it's not entirely impossible to seen an eighth film to go in the works very soon.

According to Reuters, the film opened during the Easter weekend to a high $143.6 million, making it the highest-grossing film from the popular franchise. It also toppled down "Captain America: The Winter Soldier" from the No. 1 spot of top grossing films released in the month of April.

"Walker's passing made this movie more intriguing for people who hadn't seen some of the installments. It raised awareness and its success is a tribute to him," said BoxOffice.com Vice President and Chief Analyst Phil Contrino.

Recently, Fast and Furious star Vin Diesel appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live and hinted that the journey isn't over yet.

"You know I always think of these films multiple pictures in advance. I think of them as trilogies. Kurt Russell came in for this movie, but he was really, we really hired him because of a story that follows this. That takes place in New York...," Diesel said.

The studio being the franchise has not confirmed the sequel yet.
