Movie Mogul Accused of Groping Italian Model
Movie mogul Harvey Weinstein has been accused of groping a 22 year old woman in his office at the Tribeca Film Center on Friday.
The police on Monday confirmed that investigations are currently ongoing after the woman complained to the cops about Weinstein groping her privates.
The 63 year old Weinstein had been questioned by the police over the weekend while the District Manhattan Attorney will decide if to press to charges.
A police source said, "He asked if her breasts were real before touching them. She asked him to stop and he put his hand up her skirt. He asked for a kiss, she responded 'No.'"
The model had been at his office "at his request to talk business."
Another source said, "He initiated the contact," another police source said of Weinstein. "He saw her and spoke to her. She didn't know who he was until he approached her."
The producer has so far remained silent on the issue.
Weinstein, a father of five children is also the co-founder of Miramax and has been credited with making a number of hit movies like Shakespeare in Love and Gangs of New York.
The company was created along with his brother and was named after their parents Miriam and Max. The company was later sold to Disney in the 1990's for $80 million when the brothers started their own production company, The Weinstein Company.
He is currently married to fashion designer Georgina Chapman who is cofounder of Marchesa. The couple of have a 4 year old daughter and 2 year old son.
