YouTube Testing 4K Videos At 60fps and Here's How They Look

YouTube, a popular video-sharing site, is taking a major step forward as it prepares to host 4K videos at 60 frames per second. Recently the site added support for 360-degree videos.

YouTube first introduces 60 frames per second footage last year and added 4K content only last month. But the company is now combining both.

As expected, the results are glorious. As of now, these videos are the highest quality content on the website yet but obviously there aren't many videos to choose from at the moment.

Even though if there were many videos to watch, probably you wont have tech to run it. 4K videos at 60fps would require a display that can handle 3840 x 2160. Clicking the cog at the bottom right can change the resolution and frame rate to see the difference in terms of quality.

At the moment, Google-owned video sharing site is only testing the 4K at 60fps and it will certainly take time before it becomes mainstream. Smartphones, including many cameras still can't shoot at 4K/60fps.

However, it's good to see Google/YouTube preparing for the future. Here's a selection of videos at 4K/60fps (be sure to be patient as buffering might take time):
