iPhone 7 Release Date And Rumors Update: Rumored To Stick With LCD Panels Instead OLED
iPhone 7 is at least 16 months away from the launch but still we have plenty of rumors about the device. This year the company is rumored to release iPhone 6S and 6S Plus. Following year, the company will release iPhone 7 and will stick to LCD panels instead moving to OLED like in the case of Apple Watch, according to an analyst.
In a copy of research note by a JP Morgan analyst, obtained by Apple Insider, the company is not ready to switch from LCD to OLED technology for the high-volume iPhone lineup. So, the company will "use LCD panels through the iPhone 7."
Recently, Japan Display announced that it would build a new $1.4 billion LCD plant in central Japan and the facility is being partly funded by Apple.
Apple was also rumored to introduce sapphire glass with the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus. However, its main sapphire supplier GT Advanced failed to produce high-quality sapphire in large quantities, forcing Apple to abandon that plan.
iPhone 7 is expected to arrive in late 2016 and will reportedly feature a three-sensor camera. Other expected features are built in Apple SIM card and Force Touch technology.
