Lyft Wants You To Get 'Social' With Drivers
Lyft - a popular ride-sharing service - has launched a new feature that will let drivers and passengers share fun facts, and discover mutual friends and interests.
The feature, called Profiles, would allow drivers and passengers know more about each other by sharing fun facts and discover mutual friends and interests. According to the company, this new feature will help "personalize and humanize the rise experience."
"This is the beginning of Lyft's journey for profiles and a big step toward connecting people through the app. We'll continue to evolve this feature over time," Lyft said in statement. "We want Lyft to be a welcoming and memorable experience, no matter how you like to ride."
With the help of Facebook Connect, passengers and drivers will be able to discover mutual friends. According to the Lyft, one in every 10 Lyft ride matches passengers with friends in common.
"In cities with Lyft Line, we've heard countless stories of Line passengers connecting over shared interests or acquaintances," Lyft said. "Profiles makes unearthing these small-world connections even easier, and is a big step toward our vision of reconnecting people and communities through better transportation."
The new feature will debut on iOS next week.
