Hong Kong Man Gets Life Sentence for Killing, Microwaving, and Eating Parents
A Hong Kong man will spend the rest of his life in jail after he was found guilty of killing, butchering, and cooking his parents in a microwave.
The Daily Mail reports that 31-year-old Henry Chau Hoi-leung recieved a life sentence for the murder of his 63-year-old mother Siu Yuet-yee and 65-year-old father Chau Wing-ki. After killing his hapless parents, Henry butchered them, salted them, and cooked them in a microwave. He is even said to have put the meat in a series of lunch boxes and eaten some of the meat.
In addition to the murder charges, Henry received 9 years in prison because his actions prevented the lawful burial of his parents.
It is believed that Henry killed his parents after they refused to continue funding his wasteful and extravagant lifestyle. The government also believed that Henry was upset about his father not turning down the television. Another motive seems to have been Henry's frustration that his mother was making him take piano classes.
The murders were discovered when Henry's brother grew worried because he hadn't heard from his parents for an abnormal amount of time. Henry's brother's inquiries about their parents must have effect somehow affected Henry because he confessed the murders to friends who then called police.
