Rock Star David Crosby Crashes Tesla Into Jogger At 55 Mph
Rock legend David Crossby hit a jogger while driving in one of the streets near his ranch in Santa Ynez, Southern California on Monday.
According to E! Online, the singer-songwriter is driving his Tesla for 55 mph and did not notice that the 46-year old Jose Jiminez was jogging in his right side and thus 'dinged him with the right front' of Crosby's 2015 Tesla.
As reported by KEYT via Huffington Post, the victim is 'propelled forward by the impact.'
Jiminez, who is with his 14-year old son during that time, is said not to be seen by Crossby as he is driving in the direction where the sun shines glaringly and obstructs his vision.
"Mr. Crosby was cooperative with authorities and he was not impaired or intoxicated in any way. Mr. Crosby did not see the jogger because of the sun," California Highway Patrol spokesman Don Clotworthy said in an interview with CNN as mentioned in a report from Huffington Post.
However, reports from E! said that the victim did not succumb to a life-threatening situation.
David Crosby is obviously very upset that he accidentally hit anyone. And, based off of initial reports, he is relieved that the injuries to the gentleman were not life threatening. He wishes the jogger a very speedy recovery," Crosby's rep told E!
Jiminez was rushed to the Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital for multiple fractures, abrasions and lacerations. Authorities announced that his injuries are not life-threatening and he is safe.
Meanwhile, according to Rolling Stone Crosby, Stills and Nash had some conflicts with bandmate Neil Young and had previously announced not to have a tour with Young in the future.
Their tension is said to have sprung up from Crosby's comments against Young's girlfriend, Daryl Hannah calling her a 'purely poisonous predator.'
Neil Young is reported to have lashed back at Crosby on Twitter announcing his anger saying that he knew "at least 20 better guitar players than Neil."
David Crosby got an award at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame for being a part of the trio Crosby, Stills and Nash. He was also a member of the group Byrds.
