Instagram Launches New Layout App To Create Photo Collages

Instagram has launched a new standalone app for making photo collages. The approach appears similar to its previous app Hyperlapse - a simple interface with rich features.

Using the app to make photo collages cannot be simpler. Once you open the app you will get to choose photos that you will be including in the collage. If you take lot of pictures, and sifting through them is hard, the app gives you option to filter among faces and recents as well.

Once you start selecting photos, you can choose the layout of your collage as well. Going forward, you can resize the images appearing in the collage. Other nifty features like 'mirror' and 'flip' are also present in the app.

Once you save, along with a local copy being saved to your photos, you can also share it directly on Instagram, Facebook and other photo sharing services.

Some notable collage makers include PicFrame and Pic Stitch.

The free app is only available for iOS for now and the company notes that the Android version is coming in the next few months.
