New Apple TV With Siri Arriving This Summer, Says a new Report

A new Apple TV device is arriving this summer, according to a new report.

The company is expected to unveil an updated Apple TV set-top box along with an App Store at Apple's Worldwide Developer Conference (WWDC) this June, BuzzFeed reported.

The new device will sport an updated design, support voice control via Siri and will act as a hub for "a selection of HomeKit-enabled home automation devices," the report added.

"Sources say Apple's new Apple TV is a significant overhaul of the device, one intended to undergird Apple's vision of what the TV viewing experience should be, and to raise the table stakes in a set-top box market cluttered with barely differentiated devices from Amazon, Roku, and others."

It's been more than three years since a significant update to Apple TV was released and a recent price drop aside, the product is starting to show its age.

Apple TV's rivalries, i.e., Amazon's Fire TV and the Xbox One already feature voice support and adding Siri to the mix could help make the Apple TV even easier to operate, Mashable noted.
