Motorola is releasing Android 5.1 Lollipop update to its second version of Moto X, according to reports.

Motorola posted the changelog of the soak test on its customer support portal, suggesting that the update was on the way.

The Android 5.1 update focuses on notifications, settings option, camera and overall performance.

"We are excited to announce a new software update for XT1095 by Motorola. This update brings Android 5.1 Lollipop to your phone along with other improvements," Motorola announced.

The new update will allow users block interruptions until the next alarm, alter notification volume controls while media is playing, dismiss a head-up notification and swipe it up to remove it from the screen.

Among other improvements, post update, Moto X will have improved low-light camera shots and better responsiveness of the front-facing camera's viewfinder.

Android 5.1 on Moto X will also bring Device Protection feature, which means if the device is stolen, it will stay locked until you sign in with your Google account, even if someone resets it to factory settings.

The update is also expected to bring number of bug fixes.

The over-the-air(OTA) update is expected to arrive on Moto X unlocked variants, followed with carrier devices in following weeks.
