Amazon has been working on a new appstore called 'Unlocked' that will offer a whole range of paid apps for free, according to reports.

An internal presentation was leaked on TechCrunch recently that spills some details on the new program aimed to bolster traffic to Amazon's own apps.

"App developers whose apps are highlighted in the deck include biggies like Sega America, whose Sonic Dash game features prominently in the presentation; as well as notable independents like UsTwo, whose Monument Valley game is also flagged as an "Unlocked" app," TechCrunch reported.

Other details including when "Unlocked" is expected to launch or which all apps are will be initially participating was not clear from the leaked presentation.

In order to take part in the "unlocking" process you need to have installed Amazon's shopping app on your Android device. The process is only limited in "as long as developers are okay with it." According to the leaked document, developers would be able to leave the unlocked program at any point. "When they do, the app still exists on Amazon's Appstore; it just converts back to a paid-for app, and all in-app purchases transform back into paid elements," PC Mag reported.
