Kendall and Kylie Jenner Follow in Kim Kardashian’s Footsteps, will Develop Mobile Game App
Kendall and Kylie Jenner will follow in the footsteps of older half-sister Kim Kardashian. Kris Jenner's two youngest daughters announced that they will be developing their own mobile game app.
Kendall, 19, posted a sneak peak of the app on Instagram. The photo of the animated sisters was captioned, "We couldn't wait to tell you any longer! Excited to announce that we are working on our own mobile game! #KendallKylieGame #staytuned."
Kylie, 17, posted the same picture. She wrote, ""Kendall and I are excited to announce that we are working on our own mobile game! #KendallKylieGame #staytuned."
Glu Mobile, the developer of the app, released a statement as well addressing the "tremendous amount of brand power and social impact" that the sisters have. As of March 18, Kendall has 21.3 million followers while Kylie has 18.9 million on Instagram.
"We are pleased to partner with them over the 5-year contract term," Glu CEO's Niccolo de Masi said. "We expect that their creative input along with Glu's expertise in the celebrity-based mobile gaming genre will produce an experience that resonates with Kendall's and Kylie's more than 72 million* social followers around the world."
Players will take on the roles as friends and mentors to Kendall and Kylie. They will help the sisters achieve their goals and aspirations. The app is expected to be a success like Kim's mobile app, "Kim Kardashian: Hollywood," which was also developed by Glu. According to AdWeek, Kim's popular app has brought in more than $74 million last year.
Kendall and Kylie have done several projects together. They co-wrote a young adult novel and have designed clothing collections for numerous brands, such as PacSun and Topshop. They have also had major success in their solo careers.
The app is expected to launch worldwide later this year. It will be available on iOS and Android.
