Shailene Woodley's Relationship With Ansel Elgort Is Purely "Platonic"

Shailene Woodly and Ansel Elgort's chemistry may have clicked in the movie The Fault In Our Stars but the 21-year old actor said that their relationship is purely platonic. In his recent photo shoot with Seventeen  magazine, the cover boy gets more personal and reveals more than one gets to see on cam.

"Me and Shailene have a really platonic relationship. I've never once wanted her sexually, which is nice," the actor said via UPI.

However, as mentioned in People, the hottie said that friendship is a requirement for a relationship to last and he would prefer that the person he's dating with would also be his best friend.

"For me, if a person is someone I'm attracted to, and she's my best friend, hopefully we're dating."

During the interview, the Insurgent star also revealed some of his quirks.

From a report by Just Jared, the actor said: "I like to buy girls shoes and jewelry. I buy stupidly expensive shoes. I got Louboutins for my mom and my girlfriend before. My mom was like, 'I can't wear these; they're too high.' I was like, 'Mom, you have to try them - they're so cool. They're red snakeskin!' She still wears them every so often but she can't walk in them."

Ansel Elgort also confirmed that he is a romantic. As for his ideal date, he said: "I like romantic dates-going on a long walk in Central Park and then taking the subway downtown and going out to eat and ordering oysters. After that, you walk around again and talk. Morning dates are nice, too. I love doing romantic sh-t. It's fun. It's like you're living in a movie."

Shailene Woodley and Ansel Elgort played as two teenagers, Hazel Grace and Augustus Water in The Fault In Our Stars, who met in support groups and fall in love with each other. In the upcoming movie Insurgent (a recent installment of the Divergent series), however, things changed as they will be playing the role as siblings, Tris and Caleb Prior.

Insurgent had its premiere in New York on Monday this week. It will hit theaters on Friday. Woodley and Elgot will star together with Theo James, Kate Winslet, Miles Teller and Octavia Spencer.
