Australian Man to Get First iPhone6 Drops it on Live TV
The launch of any Apple product is an 'event' with long lines forming a night ahead. The launch of the latest iPhone6 was no different. People thronged stores to be the first ones to get the device, Friday. In Perth, western Australia, for a young man who managed to be the first in line to get the phone, there was no end to his excitement until the unbelievable happened- he dropped the phone on a concrete pavement that also on live TV.
Television broadcaster , Today Perth News, was reporting the event live and interviewed the very first person, Jack Cooksey, to buy the iPhone 6 from Perth's flasgship store. In his excitement to show off his phone on air, Jack got carried away and dropped the brand new, $1000 plus, cherished phone .
Very unfortunate for him but for Today Perth News, a routine interview turned into "Breaking News".
The crowd around him reacted with shouts of dismay.
Perth in Australia, is 12 hours ahead Eastern Time and was the one of the first few cities to get its hands on the coveted iPhone6. Cooksey had camped all night to be the first few people in the world to buy the iPhone6, reports USAtoday.com.
For Jack the story ended well though as his phone was unharmed.
In London, a poll done by Protect Your Bubble , a gadget insurance company, of the 100 people camped outside the Regent Street Apple store revealed that 41 percent were waiting for the iPhone 6 Plus, 30 percent were there for the iPhone 6 and 29 percent wanted both, reports Forbes.
