Demi Lovato Says She’d be Dead without BF Wilmer Valderrama
Demi Lovato is truly an inspiration to her fans.
The singer/actress revealed on Instagram that she is celebrating her third year of sobriety.
"I wish I could put into words how grateful I am for this man right here," she wrote in the caption of a picture of her kissing her boyfriend actor, Wilmer Valderrama. "But my love has grown to a level that words could never possibly express how much this man completes me. He's loved me the way I never thought I deserved to be loved and with this day marking my 3rd year sober ... After sharing my ups, putting up with my downs and supporting my recovery ... he still never takes credit and I want the world to know how incredible his soul is."
She added at the very end, "I really wouldn't be alive today without him. I love you Wilmer."
Valderrama, 35, is best known for his role as Fez on the hit TV series, "That '70s Show."
Lovato also thanked her fans for their support over the years. She tweeted: "I'm still catching up to texts and congrats tweets... Thank everyone who has supported my journey. I never knew sobriety was possible for me."
Lovato also tweeted these two messages:
"But with the love and support I've been given from my friends, fans, and family..I now celebrate my 3rd birthday. Thank you to everyone."
"I love you all... #3"
Lovato has suffered from mental health issues, such as depression. The 22-year-old revealed that she has also dealt with body image insecurities, eating disorders and self-esteem issues. In 2010, Lovato checked into a rehab facility and has been focused on improving herself. Throughout her years of recovery, she has posted several healthy mind and body messages and pictures.
Lovato is headed to her first annual Lovato Scholarship Benefit on Wednesday night at the Troubadour in Los Angeles. The profits from the tickets will go to The Lovato Treatment Scholarship, which helps fund mental health patients who have financial difficulties.
