Ryan Gosling, the "Notebook" actor and his actress girlfriend Eva Mendes are proud parents to a baby girl.

Us Weekly confirmed news of the birth citing several sources close to the couple. The Gosling-Mended baby came Sep 12, and the parents are super excited to welcome their bundle of joy.

Insider sources also told E!Online that it was an emotional moment for the genetically-blessed couple who broke into tears as soon as she arrived.

"It was very emotional for Eva and Ryan. They were both in tears when they saw their daughter for the first time!" the source said.

"Eva is so happy she's a mom, their baby girl is perfect! They are at home now with the baby and Eva is feeling great she says," the source added.

The source also said that Mendes is great with kids and has wanted one for a long time now. When she found out they were having a baby girl she was extremely delighted because deep down, she wanted to have a daughter.

While the whole baby news has been kept completely under wraps, people close to the couple say the baby girl looks just like Mendes with all her beautiful features.

News of the pregnancy was confirmed only after Mendes was seven months along.

An insider told OK Magazine:

"She's been ready for motherhood for a while now and to be sharing this experience with Ryan is a dream come true for her!"

Rumors of the pregnancy came in early February amid gossip that Gosling and Mendes were breaking up again. The "Place Beyond the Pines" co-stars have been in an on-and-off relationship since they started dating in 2011.

However, the baby news apparently cemented their commitment and they are more in love than ever now.

"All her friends love Ryan and Eva together," the source gushed to E!Online. "He tells her how sexy and perfect she is all the time... he really is like Noah in The Notebook! It's kind of an inside joke, but he's really romantic. They are both so happy and in love."

Previously, Gosling told Us Weekly in a 2011 interview that he could only handle one role at a time - either that of an actor or a father.

"I'll make movies until I make babies. I have no idea when the handover will happen. When someone comes along [to make babies with] I don't think I'll be able to do both and I'm fine with that."
