According to The Telegraph, the watch will allow users to use Apple Pay by simply swiping it over a POS counter. It will also let users send messages, emails and make calls by synching with their iPhones besides keeping time. It also boasts of an ensemble of health functions including heart rate monitoring.

Apple also plans on launching a gold edition of the watch made from 18 carat scratch-proof gold that is expected to cost around $ 12,000. The exclusive luxury edition will initially be available in limited numbers but Apple later hopes to sell around a million gold models every month after a while. The Sport version of the device which Apple hopes to sell in bigger numbers is expected to cost around $ 450.

Clarity about price and details pertaining to sales are expected to emerge after Monday's launch.
