Madonna Fall Update: "Difficult" Diva Tumbled Because She Ignored Designer Directions
Madonna's favorite fashion designer, Giorgio Armani, who designed the cape that caused the diva's demise at the BRIT Awards, recently talked to the press in his fashion show at the Milan Fashion Week stating that he is not to blame for the accident.
"This cape had a hook and she wanted a tie, and she wasn't able to open it with her hands. That's all there is to it. 'Madonna, as we all know, is very difficult," the designer said according to reports from Daily Mail.
The Material Girl singer explained in an episode of Jonathan Ross' talk show why she did not follow the designer's initial plan about the cape.
"Everybody was worried that my cape was going to slide off because it's quite heavy, so they tied it really tight around my neck. So here I am marching in like a queen, and I got to the top of the stairs and I pulled my silky string, and it would not come undone. And my two lovely Japanese dancers basically strangled me off the stage. I had a choice: I could either be strangled or fall with the cape, and I fell,'" the diva said.
As reported by BBC, the 56-year old diva further added that she soon recovered fully from the incident and the fall has only caused her "a little bit of whiplash."
"I know how to fall, I have fallen off my horse many times," she said.
The video which really caught Madge red-handed instantly went viral online. Even with its popularity, Madonna refused to watch the video's replays, according to LA Times.
"The universe was trying to teach me a lesson, I guess. I didn't hurt my butt, I hurt my head."
Meanwhile, life goes on with the pop queen as she has recently announced her concert tours this year including 35-city Rebel Heart Tour, which kicks off Aug. 29 in Miami.
Also, she has announced to have a show at the Forum in Inglewood on October 27.
