Chris Brown and Karreuche Tran: Rapper Rumored to be Father of 9-month-old Baby; Tran Leaves Brown

TMZ is reporting that Chris Brown is a proud father of a nine-month-old baby girl.

According to the celebrity news website, the 25-year-old rapper and his baby momma, 31-year-old former model Nia, are on good terms but are not romantically involved. Brown is still dating his girlfriend Karreuche Tran, who he has been with on-and-off for about four years.

There is currently no news on the nature of the parenting relationship between Brown and Nia. Formal child support does not appear to exist for the time being. Sources claimed that Brown and Nia have known each other for years.

The news of a baby surfaced shortly after Brown told Power 105.1 show, The Breakfast Club on Feb. 23 that he wanted children. He had said, "I'm cool with two, one is fine, if on the first try it's a boy."

Brown, Nia and Tran have not commented on the baby news.

Hollywood Life is reporting that Rihanna, Brown's ex, is shocked but happy for him.

"Rihanna is shocked and had to read the reports four times before it finally sunk in," an insider told the website exclusively. "But first things first, and that's that if it's true, Chris will be a good father and take care of his little girl."

The source added, "That's a big responsibility and something that requires a lot of work, energy and love. She wishes him all the best in this new and very important chapter in his life. Rihanna's been through it all with Chris. This is the type of situation that some women would lose their minds over and end up doing something very foolish. She's thanking everything around her that she's not in this position.

Brown is currently on his Between the Sheets tour.

UPDATE: Tran has reportedly split from Brown, stating that she can "only take so much."
