iPhone 5C Literally Burns a Hole Through NY Man's Pocket!

A New York man has reportedly suffered burns on his inner thigh due to his iPhone.

According to CNN, Erik Johnson's iphone 5c on February 14 suddenly heated and burnt through his pants to give him second and third degree burns. Johnson was with his family at the time of incident. He was immediately rushed to the hospital where he spent 10 days.

CNET quoted Johnson saying that he tried getting the phone out of his pocket as it burnt him but couldn't as the phone had melted the pockets shut. He had to rip his pants to move the phone away from him.

"All I heard was a pop, and it started fizzling, and it just started to burn my leg. It went to a pretty much instant burn, it didn't even warm up; it just went to burn. And the only way I could get the phone away from me was to rip off my pants to get the phone out," Johnson reportedly said, according to PCMag.

It was also reported that Johnson's case was not the first incident involving an iPhone 5c. A 13-year old girl in Maine underwent a similar experience last year when the phone caught fire in her back pocket.

CNN quoted Johnson's lawyer Mike Della saying Apple has not responded to their communication. Della said iPhone users should not have to worry about their phones burning or exploding. Other reports suggested that Johnson plans to sue Apple for damages.
