A man claims cannabis oil cured his liver cancer.

Mike Cutler, a 63 year-old cancer patient from Hastings in East Sussex, reportedly consumed cannabis oil to overcome pain and reduce disease symptoms. The retired builder was diagnosed with liver cancer in 2009 soon after which he received a transplant surgery. But, the disease reappeared in 2012 affecting his new liver, reports the Express.CO.UK.

Cutler said he researched online and came across a YouTube video suggesting intake of cannabis oil as a cure for cancer. His pain and discomfort ceased in just three days after using cannabis oil. The biopsy scans taken at the Royal Free Hospital in London during May of this year found no cancer cells in his liver.

"Finding out I could die was terrible. All I had in those dark days was my laptop, and that's when I began searching for something else that could help me  I couldn't accept I was going to die. When I found out I was cured I was just completely shocked. I'm a normal family man, not a druggie. I had a serious illness and this helped," Cutler said, reports the Daily Mail.

The use of marijuana in medical treatments has drawn in controversial judgments and mixed reviews. Many health officials object to employing the recreational drug in treatment methods suspecting it can lead to overdosing and addiction.  A recent clinical research discovered a psychoactive compound in cannabis called Tetrahydrocannabinol or THC inhibits the growth of cancer cells.

Sources say Cutler along with renowned health experts is urging for a law to promote medical use of cannabis.

"This could potentially lead to more effective treatments for cancer in the future, but there's still no good data from clinical trials to show that cannabis or cannabinoids can safely and effectively treat cancer in patients at the moment," said Kat Arney, manager of science communications at the Cancer Research, U.K, reports the Daily Mail.
