Samsung Galaxy S8 is just unveiled with a number of additional functionalities and features. It includes almost bezel-less screen, DeX dock option, and with Bixby assistance system. Interestingly, the makers didn't let the headphone jack go this time, and it comes along with USB-C port. As expected, the phone is coming with a bigger version, possibly a replacement for its Note versions, called Galaxy S8+.

It is faster, with more style, curved glass phone in aluminum with displays of 5.8-inches and 6.2-inches. The phone is priced at $720 and above while the S8+ is priced at around $840 or above, and it comes in five colors while users in the U.S. gets three colors, namely silver, black, and gray. The physical home buttons of the phone replaced with a pressure sensitive button at the bottom of the screen. The phones will run on Android 7.0 Nougat with a 64 GB internal storage and an option for expansion through SD card slot.

The screen resolution of the phone is 2960 x 1440 pixels and is reportedly the first mobile with Mobile HDR Premium certification. The device runs on an octa-core processor; four cores clocked at 2.3Ghz and the remaining four at 1.7Ghz. The phone is also powered by a 4GB of RAM memory. The smaller version comes with a 3,000mAh battery, and the larger one is powered by 3,500mAh. The batteries are expected to give a lasting performance for a day considering the battery optimization of OS and optimization of the device.

The rear camera of the phone is 12 MP, and the selfie camera is 8 MP with an F1.7 aperture. The camera does not seem to have a significant change from earlier version - the S7. Additionally, it has a fingerprint sensor, and a face unlock feature. The phone also comes with DeX dock option to convert TV screen into a computer monitor and also comes with Bixby assistance system to help the users. Considering the debacle of Note 7, Samsung did an 8-point battery safety check to ensure no further disaster.
