"The Blacklist" is set to have a spin-off that focuses on Tom Keen's character. This new series is titled "The Blacklist: Redemption."

According to a report, Keen who was portrayed by Ryan Eggold was supposed to be killed in "The Blacklist." However, with the upcoming spin-off series, it seems that fans are going to see more of him. Executive producer John Eisendrath that there was a great consideration regarding Keen's character. The team decided to write more about the character instead of killing him. The one thing that made the spin-off of "The Blacklist" a possibility is Eggold's presence in the show.

In the meantime, "The Blacklist" spin-off focuses on Tom Keen believing that Scottie (Famke Jannsen) is her mother. She is the head of a covert mercenary group and always believed that her son died as a child. Aside from Eggold, Edi Gathegi will also return for "The Blacklist" spin-off as Matias Solomon.

Eggold shared that the first episodes of "The Blacklist" spin-off will launch a new world with a new story and a whole set of new cast of characters. As the story moves on the relationship of Tom with Liz and Agnes is going to be explored.

Meanwhile, a clip for "The Blacklist: Redemption" is already out. The clip gives a glimpse of Tom and Scottie. This new series will expand the world from the original story. There will be more look into the life of Tom. There may even be a crossover in the series between Scottie and Red (James Spader).

"The Blacklist: Redemption" is a new series though coming from the original one can stand on its own. The story will move on and explores more on Tom Keen's life and work. The new series will premiere Thursday.
