Popular Youtube sensation, Pewdiepie announced that he'll be deleting his channel once it hits fifty million subscribers. True to his word, he deleted his channel... or did he?

PewDiePie, whose real name is Felix Kjellberg announced that he'll be deleting his Youtube channel. This is because of his problems with the popular video hosting site, Youtube. He published a video, detailing how he is losing viewers and subscribers to his channel and blames Youtube for their updates on the website. "It feels like a kick in the face when they (Youtube) make changes and don't tell anyone about it," PewDiePie said. He also said that Youtube is important to people who makes money off of their videos like him.

So, in response to this issue, Pewdiepie vowed to delete his channel once it hits fifty million subscribers. Fans of the popular Youtuber expressed different reactions to this statement. PewDiePie built up his audience for six years so his fans are concerned about deleting his channel to start a new one. So when the fifty million subscribers went by, Pewdiepie remained to his word and deleted his channel--his secondary channel named Jack Septiceye2. Jack Septiceye2 garnered only few subscribers and videos.

Other Youtubers are also expressing their beliefs to this new update of Youtube. Youtubers like the h3h3Productions also complained from this matter. It seems that this matter all leads to Youtube's Subscribe Feature.

According to PewDiePie's video, he said that "Youtube is killing my channel." This is because people who have been subscribed to PewDiePie's channel aren't seeing his videos on their Youtube homepage feed. Instead, viewers are seeing the "Recommended" videos. The Recommended videos in Youtube are videos tailored after what viewers have viewed recently. This replaced the "Subscribed Videos" feature in which viewers can see the latest videos uploaded from their subscribed channels. Now, Youtube migrated the Subscription video to the left side, making it unnoticed to most of the Youtube viewers.

He also mentioned that some channels which he is subscribed to unsubscribed him for some reason. This may be YouTube's doing to eliminate spam accounts and inactive subscribers. The analytics will play a role here, giving out information to Youtubers on what is the status of their channel. PewDiePie said that his channel is dying, as seen on his analytics. This could spell disaster to those who make a living off of creating and uploading content to Youtube. Youtube informed BBC that they didn't do anything to change how the site promotes videos.
