Ian Somerhalder and Nikki Reed have been plagued by countless divorce rumors, but the couple continues to prove that they are stronger than ever. As "The Vampire Diaries" is coming to its series finale in Season 8, is Nina Dobrev's ex boyfriend now expecting a child with his wife?

Nina Dobrev and Ian Somerhalder's reunion in "The Vampire Diaries" Season 8 has led to divorce rumors between Somerhalder and his wife, Nikki Reed. However, in a recent report from MailOnline, both Somerhalder and Reed did not seem to be affected by the never-ending rumors surrounding their relationship.

Somerhalder recently celebrated his 38th birthday and Reed posted one of the sweetest birthday greetings for the actor on her social media page. The "TVD" Season 8 actor was quick to respond on Facebook and thanked his wife for the "sweetest birthday note" he has ever received.

Somerhalder also said that this is his best birthday ever, which led to speculations that he and Reed were already pregnant. Both Somerhalder and Reed also stepped out in public events and the "Sleepy Hollow" actress was often seen wearing loose clothes.

It can be recalled that Somerhalder has been very vocal about his desire to start a family with Reed. It looks like they will not be as busy now that "The Vampire Diaries" is ending after season 8.

Deadline reports that Somerhalder and Reed will be transitioning from appearing in front of the screens to doing work behind the cameras. The married couple of two years will be producing The CW drama "Transience" under their company, Rare Birds Productions.

This will mark Somerhalder and Reed's first ever project under their newly launched production company. This will also be Somerhalder's first project after "The Vampire Diaries" wraps up on The CW.
