"Sleepy Hollow" fans will be treated to a new episode a few weeks from now. Season 4 will return in January with "Columbia" and Fox has released the premiere episode to some members of the press. Here's what will happen in "Columbia."

According to TVLine, the first moments of "Columbia" both mentioned and showed Abbie Mills (Nicole Beharie), who tragically died in the "Sleepy Hollow" Season 3 finale. Abbie sacrificed her life to defeat Pandora (Shannyn Sossamon) and The Hidden One (Peter Mensah).

The "Sleepy Hollow" Season 4 premiere also showcased the first meeting of Ichabod Crane (Tom Mison) and his new partner, Diana (Janina Gavankar). Following Abbie's death, Ichabod will now work in Washington, D.C. together with Diana and a small group of researchers portrayed by Rachel Melvin, Oona Yaffe, Jeremy Davies, and Jerry MacKinnon, TVLine listed.

"Sleepy Hollow" Season 4 will not feature an Ichabod wallowing in Abbie's untimely demise. Rather, he and Jenny (Lyndie Greenwood) will be "far more driven" in every mission to honor Abbie.

The "Sleepy Hollow" Season 4 pilot features "a visual callback" in the first few moments. The set for The Vault was also showcased, which TVLine described as "impressive." Davies' Malcolm Dreyfuss character is "one of the richest men in the world, yet he doesn't appear to own a comb."

One new character on "Sleepy Hollow" Season 4 is a skeptic, while Ichabod's TV-viewing habits have grown since the last time. The premiere also shows a "warm embrace" between two characters and a "big revelation" before the episode ends.

Mison told TVLine that Ichabod and Diana won't hit it right away and will refuse to warm up to each other. Both characters just lost their partners and "there is a hole that needs to be filled, whether they will admit it or not." Diana isn't a believer of the supernatural world and she will have a hard time accepting it.

The Season 4 renewal of "Sleepy Hollow" didn't come easily. Fox entertainment president David Madden said in August that Abbie's death made it hard to figure out where the show could go to next. But the "Sleepy Hollow" creative team managed to present new characters and exciting storylines for Ichabod, so they decided to take a chance and greenlight a fourth season, TVLine reported.

"Sleepy Hollow" Season 4 premieres on Friday, Jan. 6 at 9/8c on Fox. What do you think of "Columbia" so far? What do you expect from Ichabod and Diana's new partnership? Share your thoughts below.
