More than a month after the NES Classic console was unleashed by Nintendo to the market, stocks of this super in-demand gadget remain limited or nonexistent at all. Minutes after it was launched on November 11, the Mini NES was totally wiped out.

Priced at super affordable $60, the NES Classic is definitely the hottest toy in town. Sony's PS4 and Microsoft's Xbox One cannot boast of the same clamor from consumers. The buying public literally went gaga over this retro gaming console. Employees at several retailers describe the demand for NES Mini as mayhem!

This high demand for the NES Classic Edition resulted in very limited or no supply at all. This situation benefitted enterprising individuals who wanted to cash in on consumers who are willing to fork hundreds or thousands. Scalpers and resellers on eBay and Craiglist were reportedly making cash cows out of the NES Mini.

There were reports of NES Classic being sold between $200 and $2000. An eBay item went as high as $20,000. According to Japanese gaming giant Nintendo, they underestimated the demand for the product. The company commended retailers such as Walmart, Amazon, Best Buy and Toys R Us for doing a good job with shipment notifications.

Nintendo of America exec Reggie Fils-Aimé assured consumers that there will be more shipments of NES Classic to arrive for the Holiday season. In an interview with CNET, Fils-Aimé shared stock developments regarding the Mini NES.

As Christmas approaches, more retailers are restocking the Nintendo NES Classic. Toys R Us started the trend, announcing new shipments last December 4. Urban Outfitters followed, selling the product online. The biggest announcement this week was from Amazon and Walmart, which had the products as well.

In another NES Classic stock development, Best Buy announced that it will be restocking the NES Mini on December 20. So fret not parents and gaming aficionados, there will be more units to come before Christmas. In limited quantities, though.

Reggie Fil-Aime's appeared on the Jimmy Fallon Show to discuss the NES Classic's popularity and stock developments. See the video below.
