Niantic, the developer of "Pokemon Go" has been doing a lot of behind-the-scenes activities of late. They have introduced a lot of updates in the past few months. Some updates are great but some are more controversial. The introduction of daily bonuses for hitting and catching Pokestops is great. But the changes in the gyms were not well accepted by the fans.

Niantic Restored The Gym Prestige Levels

Perhaps in response to this issue, Niantic has rescinded some of the changes they made in "Pokemon Go." The game developer made the training gym prestige levels the same as they were before. A note from Niantic regarding this straightforward update simply stated: "Trainers, the amount of Prestige gained when training at friendly Gyms has been reverted back to the original values."

With this new "Pokemon Go" update, it will be easier for players to train up gyms that already belong to his team. Although this could mean possible stagnation, it could also result in gyms being more valuable which makes the effort of overtaking them worthwhile. This update is available from the server and players are advised not to get them from Apple App stores or Google Play.

Rumors Said Gen 2 Pokemon Will Be Added To The Game

Another rumor going around about the "Pokemon Go" is the addition of Gen 2 Pokemon. According to this rumor, Gen 2 will be added on Dec. 8. It is supposed to go together with a Starbucks promotion. This rumor has diminished over the past few weeks. But the bigger question is if it is timely.

Some believe that after six months from the launch of "Pokemon Go," the addition of Gen 2 might be a bit too early. Currently, the original 151 Pokemon are very popular even among those who only play the game casually. They say that Gen 2 doesn't have the same staying power as that of the original Pokemon because they are not that popular.
