Detroit City To Construct One Of Biggest Residential Projects With Award-Winning Design

Detroit City is about to start one of its biggest residential developments in decades within this week. It will consist of 410 residential units about to rise in an 8.4 acre land right around the neighbourhood. The development is led by Dan Gilbert's Bedrock and Rock Ventures. It has been considered a very ambitious project, with an ultimately controversial design that will run the course of the ambiance of the city when erected. It has been debated vigorously despite it being an award-winning design. It won the Grand Prize at the Congress for New Urbanism's 15th Annual Charter Awards.

"City Modern Detroit" To be Created For All Residents Of All Ranges Of Income

The area is going to be named "City Modern Detroit," which will be located in a neighbourhood near the new Little Caesars Arena and QLINE. It is considered to be one of the most controversial constructions about to take place in Detroit, budgeted to cost $70 million or even more in investment, considered to be the remake of the greater downtown Detroit. The design is quite modern, as compared to its neighbouring historical residential houses. Aside from the residential units that they offer, it will also contain 22, 000 square feet of retail stores.

The project is being led by Dan Gilbert, with 20 percent of the construction will be reserved for those who have incomes that fall below 80 percent of the median income of the selected area. The amount of $70 million for the project cost is for now just a rough estimate since the actual total cost hasn't been revealed to the public yet. Nevertheless, the residents of the area are anticipating for this project, scheduled to finish sometime next year.
