'The Walking Dead' Forecast: Multiple Times Glenn's Death Was Foreshadowed
Fans of the comic series, The Walking Dead, may have already been prepared for Glenn Rhee's death. However, fans of the TV show weren't. The fact of the matter is, no character in The Walking Dead have escaped death more times than Glenn Rhee (Steven Yeun) did.
Everyone's favorite walker-bait sure did know how to survive in the zombie apocalypse, except maybe, survive a baseball bat. Weeks after Glenn's death (thanks to one Daryl Dixon, a big bad Negan, and one very thirsty vampire bat), fans are still reeling at the fact that they won't ever see Maggie and Glenn together. Nor will Glenn see his baby when Maggie (Lauren Cohan) give birth.
As fans accept this sad truth, here are multiple times The Walking Dead foreshadowed Glenn's death.

In the photo below, fans can see Glenn holding a baseball bat from a previous season. This must have meant nothing in that episode, but now fans know what it meant. Very sneaky, TWD.
Season 2, Episode 4: Cherokee Rose
Remember that time the group used Glenn as a walker-bait to get a walker from the bottom of the well? The group thought it was a great idea to lower Glenn down the well to prevent the bloated walker from contaminating their water supply. Of course, the rusty water pump the were using as his pulley breaks, sending Glenn falling towards the hungry zombie.
Season 3, Episode 7: When The Dead Comes Knocking
What is it with Glenn nearly dying every season? On the third season of the Walking Dead, Glenn and Maggie were taken hostage by Merle (Michael Rooker). The golden couple was taken to Woodbury where Glenn was tied up and interrogated brutally by Merle. Good Ol’ Merle wanted to find out where his brother Daryl (Norman Reedus), the “prick” who handcuffed him in the rooftop, Rick, and the rest of the group were. Glenn refused to break, so Merle unleashes a walker into the room. With his hands tied behind his back, Glenn had nowhere to go. Thankfully he survived by improvising with a chair.
Season 4, Episode 5: Internment
Residing in prison, the group were plagued by a deadly virus that caused multiple deaths. Glenn was one of the infected. Thankfully, Hershel (Scott Wilson) was able to pull everyone’s favorite pizza delivery boy back from a near-death experience.
Season 4, Episode 11: Us
Apparently, the writers of The Walking Dead were tired of waiting another season to give fans a Glenn death-scare so they decided to put two in one season. Hurray, Glenn's fans! In this episode, Glenn searched for Maggie as they were separated from the prison. Glenn, accompanied by Tara (Alanna Masterson), comes across a tunnel on his way to Terminus, where Maggie told him to go. The duo was barricaded with the rubble, which they overcome, only to find a herd of walkers on the other side. Technically, this was a near-death experience for Tara, as she was the one who got her foot stuck. However, Glenn - being the hero that he is - refused to leave her. It was a good thing that Abraham (Michael Cudlitz) and Rosita (Christian Serratos) along with Eugene (Josh McDermitt) showed up to save the day. Then they found Maggie and all was well - not...
Season 5, Episode 1: No Sanctuary
Just when Rick's group of survivors thought they were finally going to find a home in Terminus, they were meat by savage cannibals who eat other human beings for survival. Rick, Glenn, Daryl and Bob (Lawrence Gilliard) were brought to a slaughterhouse where they watch as the people from Terminus mercilessly slit the throats of four other unknown people. Glenn was next in line - he was going to be bashed in the head with a baseball bat - when an explosion outside distracted the cannibals. Rick then strikes to save Glenn and everybody.
Season 5, Episode 14: Spend
After finding sanctuary in Alexandria, Glenn, and Noah (Tyler James Williams) were out on a supply run with Nicholas (Michael Trainor). A zombie outbreak causes a scared Nicholas to abandon the group, leaving Glenn and Noah to die. However, it was Noah who got ripped apart by the undead as Glenn watches in tears.
Season 5, Episode 16: Conquer
A worried Nicholas lured Glenn outside the walls of Alexandria in fear that the latter will reveal his cowardice to the rest of the group. Once outside, Nicholas shoots Glenn and left him for dead. Thankfully, Glenn has a heart of a survivor (obviously), and catches up with Nicholas before nightfall.
Season 6, Episode 3: Thank You
The episode that gave every fan around the world a heart-attack. Who could forget the time when a herd of walkers trapped Nicholas and Glenn in an alleyway with nowhere to go? The duo climbed onto a dumpster, looking for a way out. Nicholas, feeling that all hope is lost, draws his gun and utters a "Thank you" to Glenn before he shot himself in the head, that coward. Nicholas' flailing body pulled Glenn into the pit of walkers below.
Season 6, Episode 9: No Way Out
Finally, Glenn has found his way back to Alexandria along with Enid (Katelyn Nacon). Unfortunately, the safe-zone was now overrun by walkers. Glenn and Enid formed a plan to save Maggie from a collapsing platform. Glenn was ready to sacrifice himself to save the one he loved when Abraham and Sasha (Sonequa Martin-Green) came to save the day.
Season 6, Episode 16: The Day Will Come When You Won't Be
Fans really thought that Glenn escaped death when he lunged towards Negan when the latter was threatening to put Maggie "out of misery". Negan told the group that he will let that incident slip, since it's "an emotional night".
