"Homeland" Season 6 satisfied the cravings of its loyal followers by releasing a very intense trailer. It left fans with more questions on what to expect this upcoming season.

The trailer doesn't give much when it comes to the plot of "Homeland" Season 6 except for the fact that Carrie is going to go head to head with Dar Adal ( F. Murray Abraham) - again. It is no secret that Carrie and Dar Adal had their differences, probably because of Carrie Mathison's way of getting things done.

In "Homeland" Season 6, Carrie is back in New York. According to A.V. Club, Carrie is working with a foundation that helps the Muslim community in the United States. This job allows her to spend more time with her daughter.

USA Today reported that "Homeland" Season 6 is going to start during Election Day. It will showcase the fragile, transitional phase of the United States government. There's going to be a transfer of power that's going on and it is possible that there are those who will take advantage of the situation.

Other cast are going to be back - Mandy Patinkin (Saul Berenson), Rupert Friend (Peter Quinn), F. Murray Abraham (Dar Adal), Elizabeth Marvel (President-elect Elizabeth Keane). Listed as guest stars for "Homeland" Season 6 are Hill Harper, Robert Knepper, Patrick Sabongui, and Dominic Fumusa.

In another clip, it was shown that Carrie is desperate to prove that an attack is going to happen. Some are assuming that it is an attack against President-elect Elizabeth Keane (Elizabeth Marvel). And just like with the past season, Carrie is against all odds and is willing to risk it all to save the mission and prove that she's right.

"Homeland" made it marked back in 2011 when it featured the intense and complicated relationship between Carrie and Nicholas Brody (Damian Lewis). "Homeland" Season 6 is set to air on January 15, 2017.
