An exciting amalgamation of action and romance, the KBS marvel 'Descendants Of The Sun' has accumulated worldwide popularity based on its inimitable and incomparable theme, which is why fans are yearning for another season.

Premiered in 2016, the series not only gained massive feedback in South Korea, but also moved towards mainstream success in the entire Asian region. The romantic interaction between the frontman of Special Korean Special Forces Unit, Yoo Si-Jin (Song Joong-Ki) and his significant other Dr. Kang Mo-Yeon (Song Hye-Kyo) allowed the enthusiasts to demand for another installment as the preceding one just completed its 19-episode run, the previous month.

The jaw-dropping moment which left many of the viewers in a state of unacceptability left Mo-Yeon grieving as Si-Jin was proclaimed dead after he was sent to a mission. The latter, however, was reunited with her lover on a trip to Albania, which created endless anticipation for the regular viewers.

So don't be too bummed out if you get to see the second season of the sensation. Gradually climbing the charts, the season has yet to expose new dimensions and aspects in the upcoming installments as it ended with the whole team transferring to a different mission after a volcanic eruption in Canada.

The characters will, therefore, reprise their roles in an exclusive manner. Already living in the age of spoiler obsession, there have been speculations that song Joong Ki has already taken on the role to reprise herself. As per Asia Times, fans will experience a different side of the military themed drama as it is predicted that the series will not be a sequel, but rather revolve around a new plot.

KBS drama department head Jung Sung-Ho maintained that the potential second season will hit the screens in 2017.
