Bethesda is reportedly releasing its Xbox One Fallout 4 mods once its forthcoming DLC, Far Harbor, arrives next week.

The news came from the studio's official Twitter account stating that a closed beta will be rolled out to Xbox One consoles after May 19.

As for PlayStation 4 players, the mod support will have to wait until next month when they will be enabled to create their mods or download them from Bethesda's official website.

PC users, on the other hand, have been experimenting with mods by signing up for the Mod Closed Beta for two weeks. However, it is not clear as to how big Mod beta will be as only a handful of screened applicants are able to test the features prior to its launching.

Also, the Creation Kit for the game has been available for quite some time in PC version via mod beta. As per Game Zone, the Creation Kit has been downloaded a million times since its release.

Since then, modders seemed to have created a number of interesting stuff. Currently, there are more than 800 mods (and counting) available which include bug fixes, new weapons, and even new radio station.

With such a feature-rich enhancements by modders, it's interesting how these mods get executed on a console platform. As mentioned in a report by MS Power User, Bethesda's Todd Howard wants to have least amount of restrictions applied on modding although modding would still have to be regulated in some way for legal reasons.

Meanwhile, NVIDIA is launching a competition for Fallout 4 modders to search for the best fan-made custom mods for the hugely successful post-apocalyptic open world game.

"The newly-announced FALLOUT 4 Mod Contest features prize packs for 20 modders, including a massive grand prize that includes $10,000, a custom-modded Fallout 4 PC, and engineering support for prospective developers from NVIDIA," the announcement reads as quoted by Express.
