Legend Of Zelda News And Release Date: Free 3D Game Available In Any Browser
The Legend of Zelda is truly an iconic game in its own right with an enduring history dating back to three decades ago. This February, the game marked its 30th birthday and some fans have taken the pains to create a 3D remake of the original game as a fitting tribute.
The game looks crude and restricted to the first three dungeons. But the 30-year Zelda tribute can be played for free on any browser. Despite some minimal glitches, the game still looks decent enough to kill away boredom especially for hardcore Zelda fans- a nostalgic immersion to the original game with the Minecraft-looking multidimensional blocks.
As reported by PC Mag, the game automatically loads as users go over to the site. Then users can immediately play a start-up game using the keyboard's arrow buttons to move around the screen. The A and B buttons correspond to Nintendo's original controller's Z and X keys which enable users to perform their desired moves such as striking enemies.
But some observers think that the 'unauthorized' game will only last briefly with Nintendo lawyers probably trying to get the game shut down.
"Nintendo's legal team falling on this like a squad of Darknuts is probably only a matter of time," remarked Uproxx writer Dan Seitz as quoted by AV Club.
And that's exactly what happened according to the latest scooped news from Nintendo Life. The creators behind the tribute game, Scott Lininger and Mike Magee, have just received a message from Nintendo to shut the game down as the company invokes its copyright.
"Nintendo asked us to remove this site for copyright infringement. I guess Zelda30Tribute was a little too pixel perfect! We're sad about that, but we get it. We started this project because we love Nintendo and the joy they have given us throughout the years. From the start of development, we knew this result could potentially happen. Nintendo has every right to protect their IP. No complaints from us, we had a blast working on this tribute and made some friends along the way," the creators' official statement said as quoted by Nintendo Life.
